Harrison Ball is an avid photographer. His interest in photography started over 40 years ago with a Pentax Spotmatic and color developing in a basement darkroom. A career as a gynecologic oncologist interrupted his photography until 1998 when a Christmas present of a digital camera immersed him again into photography. Digital processing beats a wet darkroom! He is the father of three daughters and grandfather to his favorite subject, Megan. His daughters have opened a new world of travel for him. He and Tina, his wife of 40 years, are their children’s “groupies” and have traveled to Spain, Chile, Bosnia, Greece and Belgium to follow their exploits. Harrison lives in Massachusetts and has taken photography workshops in Maine, New Hampshire and Cape Cod. His younger bother, Tom, is a professional photographer in Alexandria, Virginia, (www.tomballphoto.com), and he suspects some of his talent may have been transferred to him from Tom rather than inherited, although his father did do sketches and oil painting. His interests include landscape and travel photography, flower macrophotography and HDR imaging. He is struggling to learn lighting techniques and portrait photography. He is a member of Boston West Photographic Society in Framingham, Massachusetts. |
